found this lovely picture of a destroyed ea81 block

Did they run it out of oil? It's unusual to see a rod escape. I hydrolocked my EA82, bent the crap out of the rods, and it still held up to high revs (7k+ rpms). I figured if you can bend them and have them still hold together they must be pretty rugged.

well, I know the person (girl) ran over a median, and crushed the exhaust, and may have damaged the pan... I don't think I ever looked at the bottom...

I saved the intake and above, the 4 doors, rear hatch, denders, and interior from it, and sent it to the crusher...

nice pic. thats the exact place my 95 LegL wagon silver bomber broke its ej22 block on my drive home with it (bought it with rod knock for 200bucks) and proceeded to drive it home. Sold it with a good ej22 not installed for 700.

 

anyhow mick, what are you up to these days. what did you trailer home.
