I hydrolocked my EA82, bent the crap out of the rods, and it still held up to high revs (7k+ rpms). I figured if you can bend them and have them still hold together they must be pretty rugged. I don't think I ever looked at the bottom... I saved the intake and above, the 4 doors, rear hatch, denders, and interior from it, and sent it to the crusher... GeneralDisorder Posted March 4, 2010 Share Posted March 4, 2010 That's what happened to the original engine from my lifted wagon. 165k - oil pump went bad and the lack of good oil pressure resulted in the #3 rod comming out of the top of the block.
