bobs97c5
I haven't seen other articles posted on here discussing the upcoming 2011 Impreza XV crossover, so I thought I'd post this from the Geneva Motor Show: http://www.topspeed.com/cars/subaru/2011-subaru-impreza-xv-ar85802.html http://www.caradvice.com.au/59211/subaru-impreza-xv-geneva-2010/ I really hope the dual range 5-speed in the 2011 Impreza XV 2.0R model makes its way to the states! I wish the dual range 5-speed would be available with 2.0D Diesel engine, however according to the article above it will only be available with the 2.0R Turbo gas engine model. A 2.0D Impreza XV with a dual range 5-speed would be awesome to lift and turn into an even more capable off-road vehicle! I doubt we'll get this dual range 5-speed in the US, but it would be cool. bheinen74
Dual-range 5-speed manual transmission (2.0R MT model) This transmission further improves the moderate yet brisk and solid shift feeling normally associated with a longitudinal layout while providing improved noise reduction and drive feeling. An auxiliary reduction gear with hi-low selection is a traditional feature of Subaru that preserves driving performance in steep up hills, towing and similar conditions. I like reading the reply comments on the last link..... Edited March 5, 2010 by bheinen74
Durania
Well, I doubt we will see that car in the States.
Subaru_dude
Well, I doubt we will see that car in the States. Thank God. That thing looks terrible.
carfreak85
Thank God. That thing looks terrible. +1 Some bits might look nice on an STI. The rear "wing" for example might become a staple with the US show scene, who knows.
AWDfreak
From Subaru Global, this is Subaru's official website for it's showing of the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, which is supposed to highlight this Impreza XV http://www.subaru-global.com/about/motorshow/ms/2010geneva/index.html And here's the Impreza XV site from Subaru Global: http://www.subaru-global.com/special/impreza_xv/index.html
kiwi subbie
Is this a totally new 5 speed Dual Range? Or still based on the old gearbox?
hardtail_pride
Okay, imo they need to take that technology, then put it in the 2004-2006 impreza body and you will have a very nice car. Why with the hatchbacks? Please revert back to sedans subaru!

I'd LOVE to get that dual-range 5-speed manual in the USA. Hell, while they're at it, shoehorn it into the Forester, Outback, and Tribeca! kiwi subbie
You can get dual ranges in a Forester. What I would love is a bullet proof 6 speed with dual range lol

If Subaru brought back the D/R in the EJ trannies I would probably wet myself. I can't believe we are actually getting the Diesel. If those are as easy to swap into the old gens as the EJ gas engines, then SIGN ME UP! I would be running on french fry grease and happiness. rverdoold
In holland are the current: Impreza: 1.5R, 2.0R, 2.0sport Forester: 2.0 and 2.0 turbo Legacy: none So basically all 5m/t have a dual range and no diesel and no 6 speed. This always have been like that. So should be able to import a gearbox
