methusalah
Looking for some info on a subie xt...I'm looking at a car for sale that is said to be a 1987 Subaru XT Turbo, and that's what it is but there are some things I found to be odd for that year and model. It is a Trubo XT full-time four/all-wheel drive automatic with the air suspension and a GL-10; it has the auto sealtbelts. I didn't think the auto belts showed up until 89 and that full-time four/all-wheel drive was only on the XT-6...anyone out there who can help out? methusalah
Thanks - that's a good start. It really seems to be a car built at the beginning of the XT-6 assembly line...car is immaculate inside (no cracked dash) with only about 75k miles on it! john in KY
It is the rare 87.5 model and the transmission is the 4EAT. Will also have the spider intake manifold.
idosubaru
yep all that sounds normal...for that half year 1987.5 XT Turbo. I have the same thing but in the manual form. check out subaruxt.com for your XT specific needs.
methusalah
Thanks for the reply - how hard is it to come by a rear bumper cover? The car overall is in great shape - the big exception is the rear bumper and suspension seems inop...
methusalah
What do you think the car is worth? They're asking 2200...:-\
GeneralDisorder
EA82T's aren't worth much. Most undesireable Subaru engine. The inoperable air suspension is a common problem. The best solution is to just swap the struts for standard one's. With a bad rear bumper and needing struts all around..... 23 y/o car with an undesireable engine.... automatic (yuck)...... less than $1000. Run. idosubaru
Yeah it's not worth much, they'll be very hard pressed to get more than $1,000 for that car. The rear bumper can come off any 1988+ XT or XT6. Air suspension should be converted to coil overs any way so I don't consider that a big deal.
