KoolKatKodyJack Posted March 30, 2010 Share Posted March 30, 2010 87 gl hatch d/r ea81 i've only driven it twice (had it only a month) but everytime i drive it the oil pressure redlines and i cant figure out why. i wont drive it like that for fear of ruining anything. any guesses? GeneralDisorder Posted March 30, 2010 Share Posted March 30, 2010 If the wire to the sending unit on the oil pump is broken and grouned anywhere it will peg the gauge out. In any case it's probably a faulty gauge or sending unit. Check the actual pressure with a mechanical gauge - any 0 to 100 psi gauge ought to be sufficient.
