kaki
May sound like a no brainer...here's the story....recently acquired two 1996 2.2 engines. Both are from Automamtic transmission vehicles. One of the engines,I am doing a swap into one of my RX's...I know there's a whole lot of info on that. ***My concern here is for the other engine...with which I would like to replace the high mileage engine in my '98 5-speed AWD Legacy wagon. Someone suggested that I would need a flex plate of some sort inorder to hook up onto the manual tranny...kindly advise on what other parts are needed,or is it just a straightforward plug and play deal? Thanks. Turbone
No, the flexplate is used for a AT, not MT. It should all bolt up to your existing EJ tranny, if you have the flywheel, and clutch kit.
Numbchux
yep, just take the flywheel and clutch off your '98 motor, and bolt it onto the '92. no problem.
GeneralDisorder
Is the '98 a 2.5 or a 2.2? GD
