SuperBrat
After 14,000 miles trouble free went to use 4wd on muddy road and would not engage in 4wd......... 1990 Loyale liftback 5 speed with 4wd push button on gear shift knob, the 4 tires pic on dash used to light green when on,,,, NOW they do not come on, can hear a small qwick swish noise when you push button, the fuses are fine, wondering if anyone on this board would have a answer for me... Internal or maybe just a wire connection under car :-\
mcbrat
there are 2 vac lines hooked up for the push-button. sounds (literally) like you have either a leak in the hose, or one came unplugged....
SuperBrat
Mick, you believe that would also keep the green lights from coming on.?
Txakura
send me a PM with your number, as the only other RS in the world, maybe I can come up and we can look at it, G ooo, just remembered the vacuum lines come off a little splitter by the driver side, it's on the fender close to the windshield wiper motor, follow the two lines down to the big ball sitting on the gearbox - that's the actuator I guess you could make sure everything is secure and nothing popped off or is broken/leaking Edited April 19, 2010 by Txakura coffee triggered memory
SuperBrat
Cool, under the hood looksie, that keeps my fat rump roast from going under the car.... I havent seen you on the board for awhile, your RS still on the road?
SuperBrat
Great call Txakura:grin: The plastic air hose fitting is broke off under hood where you said, not visible to the eye, would have been awhile before i looked there, must have broke that when i changed the fuel filter last month...so i think that will be the fix...........Big thanks for that:banana:

Yes the RS is still together, unfortunately I have 15" studded Hankooks on it so I can't use it until I come up with some summer tires ($$$ issues) I scored an RX, from Moscow, and it has been doing great. In some ways it's in better condition than the RS... not all hammered underneath, no major rust, but it's a little rough in other places. 6 to 1, half dozen to the other
