nitsuj80
I recently pulled the EA81 out of my 84 GL and in order to mount the engine to the stand I needed to pull off the pressure plate. After pulling it off I realized that I had not marked its current placement and was wondering if that is a big deal when reassembling. The manual I am using says to mark it using a paint pen. Any imput would be appreciated. Thanks
baccaruda
Most here will probably tell you it's not a big deal. If there aren't any factory markings on the flywheel and pressure plate that correspond to each other, then try to match up the patterns of dirt, surface rust, etc. that may be present. Also, download a copy of How To Keep Your Subaru Alive here: http://www.worldwidecm.com/HTKYSA.pdf and peruse the clutch section. Good luck! bheinen74
there are some indicator holes on the flywheel, and they have to be 120 degrees or more from clutch cover plate indicators, which is usually a dot or paint mark.
nitsuj80
ALright. I will look for the holes you mentioned.
