ellets
Car is an 88gl 5sp d/r It has developed a wild problem. It idles pretty good but if you give it throttle over 2500 it sounds like a diesel with the jake brake on. I have checked timing belts (deadon) put in a known good coil and igniter. put in a known good distributor used but good fuel pump. old one had 5lbs of pressure. car is a spfi. Some good points I haven't tried yet. fuel filter plugs and wires. also tried another computer. no codes showing. Sure could use this car. Loyale 2.7 Turbo
I am Almost sure that your Subie's Problems are Related to a Vacuum Leak, the Idea given by Ruparts to see at the EGR is a Good Starting Point to Check; also other Places can be involved, like the intake Manyfold's Seals at the Heads in example... Good Luck, Kind Regards.
