Doggcow
So I am JUST getting back to doing my speakers and subs and everything in my car! Took a 2 year hiatus after buying half the stuff. Crazy, College got in the way... Now that I'm about to graduate, I found some spare time! Well, until I start my Masters... So I have everything mounted and in and just got my Subs! http://www.crutchfield.com/p_136S210022/JL-Audio-CS210RG-W0v2-2.html?tp=112 They fit perfectly against the back seats, as I had hoped. However, I'm not sure how I should mount them? I'm afraid to drill into the box, since it was pretty expensive. What other options are there? I was thinking, 8 little 1'' tall blockers that were attached to the car would work, so it sits snugly in a little area and won't move. Anyone else have any non-invasive ideas for mounting? Thanks! CaptEditor
You mean to hold the box in one place? Have you considered velcro?
Scoobywagon
Strangely, velcro works REALLY well. Just stick the hook side to your box and work the hooks into the carpet a bit. Frankly, though, we have found that the friction between the carpet on the box and the carpet on the floor, combined with the weight of the box and subs, is usually enough to keep it where it needs to be. If you find the box moving around, then consider the velcro idea. Also, don't be afraid to put a screw or two into your box. Its just wood, after all. If you find that the box just won't stay put, you can always pop the subs out of the box, screw the box down from the inside and then put the subs back in. No big deal.
