Impreza Transmission mount, EJ trans -> Ea D/r

i DID search but didnt locate my answer. I've talked with MilesFox a little too but thought i'd just toss it out into general public

my plan, if the funds line up right, is to buy a 97-98 or so Impreza which i am going to check out tomorrow in depth. i know it needs head gaskets and has very little rust overall. but i just want to check it out a little deeper.

anyways...

I want to swap in my ea82 dual range tranny with fresh clutch kit (i know its been done before) into it because its auto and i hate auto, especially an auto with 250k on it.. I am wondering how the tranny mounts will line up with the 5spd mounts on the imprezas;

From what i can tell for the swap since i already have a ea82 wagon, it seems I really shouldnt need much as far as extra parts go...

ea-ej adapter plate

make hybrid front axles (w/ ea82 cups on the tranny side)

and have a driveshaft adjusted to fit.

oh.. and redrilled flywheel

i know the xt6 clutch is probably recommended for something like this but since my clutch is basically new i'd just use that, as i've read that its worked for other ej swaps in general.

am i missing something? any imput greatly appreciated. i got the idea from this thread http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=107597

and the EJ Swap handbook.

You need the front crossmember from a manual trans EJ. That can then be modified, (drill, notch) to accept the D/R mounts.

You will also need a D/R shift linkage, An EJ Brake/Clutch pedal set, and a Clutch cable
