Chopcor
I have a 99 Subaru SUS 2.5 with a bad transmission(TZ1A2ZJEBA)- Was wondering if I could use a 97 Subary Outback transmission in it's place if I was to utilize the donor trans, TCU, and wiring harness- as I understand it, both are 4.44 final drive ratio, so no problem there. The donor car trans number is TZ102Z2CBA. Thanks, Stan

Thanks, Stan well i know you can't use the 97 trans WITHOUT the wiring harness. the connectors are different. i have never heard of any one doing it by swapping the harness and tcu. i would be very surprised if it works, but i have been surprised before. there is a chance you might need the ecu as well but i doubt it. why not just get a 99-03 auto trans?
