need heavier springs for the loyale

I have a 93 loyale wagon on 14" pugs with 205/75s. I have two overweight labs and a ton of camping gear, so I also have a rubbing problem. I'm planning on doing the homemade 2" lift soon and was wondering what you guys do to stiffen her up abit. I saw a post somewhere about honda front coilover springs that would fit the rear of my wagon, but can't find it anymore. Any suggestions are welcome, thanks in advance.

You guys here have helped me love my subie back to life, thanks so much!

Makes me wish I had an ea82 again! I'm running my leone with ea82 wagon springs in the rear and its a little too stiff for crawling, but it drives like a lincoln with a heavy load. Without a load, it can get passengers a little car sick cuz its stiff! Literally "bouncing" down the highway!

I want to get some sedan springs back there as I'm sure they will be a sufficient enough of an upgrade over the stock shock and not overkill like the wagon spring.

Thanks True2blue, that was exactly what I was lookin for.

Thanks everyone. My $400 project is starting to turn heads, expecially

I'm old school, still shooting with film.

Late eighties Honda accord front springs will fit the back of a subaru. Some have said it TOO stiff, and a few have even had spring perches blow off the strut.

Might want to cut off a coil.

I cut off a few coils on my accord springs on the rear. I carried a lot of heavy junk all the time, and the stock springs didn't cut it, esp with the lift, you no longer have the bumpstops so all the impact is taken by the shocks.

I had everything including a fully dressed small block chevy in the back of that wagon at one time or another. It was a lot better with the accord springs, but there was less flex when wheeling unloaded.

Ford tempo v6 springs in the front are rumored to fit, I have a set somewhere but never put them on. I had a set of 86 adjustable struts, so I just cranked the front up all the way. Still sat low with the winch, bumper, and skidplate in the front.

Cutting a coil will make it more stiff  Physics is hard.

I did this mod on my 88 DL wagon, didn't cut the coils. Yes they are stiff, but if you're looking more for load capacity they do work rather well. Some flex is lost however.

Yes, cutting a coil or too will make it more stiff, but I think the problem with the spring seats getting blown down the shock was due to the springs compressed height being taller than the struts compressed height. Cutting the spring meant that at full compression of the strut, the spring still had a slight airgap between coils.

While the spring is stiffer because there is less coils, it also has less preload on it, which may change the dynamics of ride height/ stiffness.
