North Bender
Looking for inforamtion on how to install jump seats in a 1986 Brat. I know they stopped putting them in after 1985, but I was given some seats, frame and seat belts and head rests and wanted to install. Any information would be helpful.....thanx, bob:grin:
bratman18
I welded mine in. Some people make brackets so they can bolt them in. I still haven't installed the head rests, but I was going to weld on some brackets for that. And I don't have the belts, so I couldn't tell ya!! I am sure I can weld the bracket that holds the seats in with no issues, but was wondering where the belts would go into. There are some 2-3 inch raised squares in the bed on eather side and was wondering if that was the area that the earlier models either welded to or bolted to.....thanks

I always assumed that's where the belts bolted. You should make sure there's enough metal behind those squares, though. I'd imagine they're reinforced on mine, but they may not be on yours.
