OK, during my horn issue I was looking under the dash and if anyone knows ... What are these connections / wires for? Images below

A - This wire is broken off the back of the part threaded into the dash cover right below the computer hook-up.

B - That red connector near the accessory panel and cruise control

C - The Cruise control has never worked since I got the car and the cruise control is disconnected

D - White/Blue wire just cut and hanging there...???

E - Green Connector - Would go together easily but it is not connected?

F - Greyish Brown - Connector... I do not see anywhere this would connect.

G - Two Brown wires coming out of the accessory box wound around and leading to a regular sized square fuse...???

and finally - This grey connector mounted to the heating controls...

Me and electric do not work together well. :banghead: All of these things were as is from the day I got the car. Besides the Cruise Control never working everything did work until a couple months ago and the horn stopped working... Everything is "factory" or "dealer' installed as far as I know.

The two green connectors (E) are test mode connectors and should be left unplugged.

(A) I can't tell for sure but it looks like something after market. Some kind of switch maybe? Looks like the same wires that are wrapped around the harness (G).

(B) There are a few connectors that Subaru uses for diagnostics. this might be one of them.

© Try finding a wire connector that looks the same and plug it in. Why they unplugged the cruise is beyond me. Maybe it has something to do with whatever (A) was used for.

(D) Just follow it back to wherever it goes and try to figure out what it's for.

(F) same as B?

The one by the air diverter box, probably nothing was plugged into that, but see if you can find a plug that has the same number of pins somewhere under there.

A - is / was likely the reset button for the remote lock / unlock / alarm, which it appears to be in the background of the BCD pic, large white connector which is not being used.

E - the green plugs are some of the diagnostic plugs. there should be a pair of black ones as well in the same general area. leave both pair unplugged

D - looks like the antenna wire for the remote lock / alarm unit. follow it back and you will find the unit. it may be what i saw in the background of BCD. as a matter of fact, the remote lock unit in my 97OBW looks just like that and the unused connectors on the unit are for the alarm part of the system that may not have been opted for, lock / unlock only.

B - i don't know

G - i don't know but it maybe might could be part of the lock / unlock system.

C - looks like a computer module of some kind ????

C- says it right on it "cruise control Unit"

D - is an antenna to something

B - i can hunt down on the FSM if no one has an answer.

Leave the green and black connectors alone. they are for diagnostics and reflashing the control units.

Cruise control not workind 99% of the time is a bad brake light and or clutch switch in a subaru.
