92 loyale bowing a fuse

Recommended Posts

I recently did a 5 spd D/r swap on my daughter's car. Now when you are at speed and you push the gas to the floor the fuse for "engine meter" bows and the car dies. It only happens if you push the gas to the floor as in a situation where you need to accelerate quickly. It is almost as if the car is looking to put the car into passing gear and that is blowing the fuse, but I don't know how to fix it. Does anyone have a suggestion?

I am looking at the possibility of rewiring the car for an ECU for a 5 spd, but that is a real pain and if I can avoid it.

Thanks

Mike

what happens if you're in idle and do it?

If the car is on but not moving and do it?

same or different results?

check all your wire splices/connections that you made, is that possible?

i wouldn't think you need to rewire either if everything is working. i've swapped XT6 ECU's auto to manual and the other way around without issue, i think they're interchangeable.

although - did you cut the identifier pin - that tells the ECU whether it's an auto or manual? you'd at least want to do that.

I have bee away from the computer all day so this is late in coming.

I checked and there are no wires anywhere near the accelerator pedal and there is no kick down switch either.

Gary, so I can swap an ECU from a manual and that might fix the problem?

Which is the identifier pin and how do I locate it?

Thanks guys

Mike
