The second gen toppers are larger and as was mentioned, have a slightly different slope than the first gen's. And if it seems to not fit quite right, try readjusting it, these toppers almost never sit perfectly. From my experience, the first gen topper will scratch the crap out of your second gen and not fit at all. It'll be too short and too narrow. The second gen's are too large and will hang over the sides and scratch the crap out of your first gen, usually. It depends on the build of the topper and how wide the rails are. But it definitely won't look right, as it will stick out at least a couple inches from each side of the body. And they came in a variety of heights, first gen and second gen.
