Roger Stokes
I think this question has been answered, I just couldn`t find it. So my separater plate on my 2001 forester has 70,000 miles on it and is not leaking. Whats your advice?. change it? or let it go? Thanks
1-3-2-4
I thought models higher then 1996 already had stamped metal separator plates?
Fairtax4me
They should have the aluminum plate, but that doesn't mean it can't start leaking. There's a reason they changed the design... again. Not sure exactly what it is though. I'd at least remove it and reseal it for good measure if you have the engine out. Use Ultra Grey or Anaerobic gasket maker. GeneralDisorder
It's like '99 before they fixed the plastic plate problem. I just replaced a leaking plastic plate on a '98 OBS. If it's metal and not leaking I wouldn't touch it. If it's plastic for some reason then replace it for sure. GD

1-3-2-4
Ahh I see mine is plastic on the 95 and leaking I picked up a plate from the dealer months ago, going to do the clutch and everything in one shot.. seems like it was ok to replace the clutch but not the TOB at the same time.
