cnc
Y'all, I'm amazed at the info on this board. I'm new to Subaru's and very happy with mine. Just redid the heads/seals/etc. Having problems with the A/C. It never kicks on, even briefly. I forced the clutch on by hotwiring it and the A/C blows very cold. Still has the R12 in it in the blue (good) range as measured on a R134A gauge. I was in the middle of converting it but saw it was still charged, so I stopped. Something in the electrical system is preventing it from engaging. I checked the following and are fine: Fusible links, 15A lone relay on right strut tower. Both have juice. I have not checked the low pressure switch (way down on right side of radiator??) or even been able to find the low temp cutout thermostat that is supposedly in the blower box (can't find that, either). I cannot locate any useful info on the A/C system, anywhere. I have Haynes and Chilton, which are great for doilies, but weak on info. Pulser sensor on pump is adjusted. Pump never comes on even briefly, which is a symptom of the pulser circuit being bad. It never even tries. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
