alx8283
to start off, im new to this particular forum (im semi-new to nasioc, with the same username), so im sorry if this should be posted in another section. my application is a 2002 wrx sedan. I have been trying to figure out what these springs are, for quite a while. i have had numerous conversations with people on nasioc. i have spoken with many shops over the phone and in person, and haven't gotten too far. i finally got them tested for their rates, unfortunately the jack maxxed out at 3.5" and the dead coils were compressed at 3 ", so the rest is guesstimation. Both springs fit into 04+ tophats and are rear wagon springs. the spring with the orange paint mark matches the overall height and coil count as "normal" pink springs. the ones with the purple mark do not. they are shorter and have a greater coil count. sorry in advance for the possible neck cramps associated with viewing these pictures, i saved them after they were rotated, but when they uploaded, they were not rotated. now that i have previewed the post, sorry that the pics are so big, i have no idea how to correct that. here is the link to the nasioc post, which should be easier to view http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2027361 I really appreciate any help or info. Thanks! Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Thanks again!

Fairtax4me
What exactly are you trying to figure out?
alx8283
im trying to figure out what application each of these springs were originally made for, especially the one with the purple marking because no one has been able to identify it. im pretty sure (99%) that the one with the orange paint mark was made specifically for 04+ impreza wagons. Fairtax4me
So they're both rear springs. The one with more coils on the bottom I would think is for a heavier car like a wagon. Something that would benefit from not quite as stiff of a ride but it needs a bit higher spring rate to hold up the extra weight. Did they ever use those on the Forester? Like on the XT? alx8283
I was thinking that they might be for a model other than an impreza, like a forester, but I've only seen generic pictures when searching "Subaru pink spring" and other variations of that parameter (jdm...usdm....sti....). If anyone has any links to sites with vehicle specific spring pictures it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Fairtax4me
You might try taking a look around your local Subaru dealership or look on places like Autotrader for cars sitting on other dealer lots near you that might use something like that. alx8283
I just saw a fs ad on nasioc for 04-07 impreza swift spec r springs. The rear swifts have the same coil count as my purple marked springs. Does this mean anything to anyone?
