Fenix747
Figured i would share my recent trail run i did up in the Liberty area outside Ellensburg. I have done plenty of wheeling before, but never a "real trail run". And i must say it was a good test for not only my own driving skill but the abilities of my Brat too. The trail i did last sunday was the crystal ridge trail, more info here http://nwjeepn.com/CrystalRidge.htm It lives up to its rating even when its dry (high of 103 that day) and i would think it would be almost impossible when wet (unless you have a winch and like using it a lot) The trail is somewhat split into west and east halves. The west being mostly hill climbs and descents, and the east holding the toughest climb and then winding through tight forests. A couple spots where off camber and bad placement could mean rolling over. My Brat made it through almost all of it without a problem. Only needed assistance twice, once in a mud whole when the ruts were too deep for my clearance, and the other on the toughest hill when i opted to avoid climbing the rock face and instead try the very loose and steep hill climb . Had to winch out of that one. Anyways enough talk, pictures and video say it all And here is the link to a video Wish i could have gotten more action shots, but there was only two of us. And just so you know, my rig is pretty stock for offroad capability (just a weber and 26" snow tires) so i cant wait to see how she will perform with my new welded diff (thanks Bill) and when i get lifted. If anyone was wanting to do some offroading at WCSS 12 this is a good taste of what you can expect. I plan to explore more trails in the area before wcss, and if people want to do a little offroad shindig we can get something going -Andy
