NWSubie
I bought a napa oil sending unit and put it on my EA-81 but now the red oil can indicator light on the dash is stuck on all the time. My friend had the same problem with has loyal also. Has anyone else had this problem? Im not sure if Napa is just giving us wrong sending units or if I just got a defective one. porcupine73
I don't know for sure but it seems from the ones I've messed with that on some models the switch is normally open and on some it is normally closed. If you leave the wire unhooked, does the oil light stay on. And when you ground the wire does it go off? Or the other way around?
Yo'J
I've had no luck with aftermarket senders. Dealer ones are the way to go. I'm wondering how many types they used on the gen two and threes. I'm guessing they might be more year specific than we realize.
hackasubaru
Was it the oil pressure sending unit or oil pressure switch? If i understood the difference between the two correctly; the sending unit is in charge of the oil pressure gauge and the pressure switch is for the light. Do you have both an oil pressure gauge and light?
