JMonadnock
I've been away for a while and have asked this question before and got no replies. It would seem someone must have encountered this problem before or there might be an AC expert on this site. So, here goes... I need to swap out a defective AC compressor clutch on my '92 Loyale. I was able to remove the retaining nut, but can't budge the rest. It appears that I need to next remove a retaining washer using a spanner wrench. The washer seems to be threaded into the same shaft as the nut and has two holes approx 1/8 in. that accomodate a spanner. I can't find one anywhere, so tried to fashion my own. I can't budge the thing and just managed to bend the homemade tool. Does anyone know how to disassemble the clutch from the compressor? Does it take a special tool? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
eulogious
I can look in my FSM later today, if I remember. I don't know what it says, but I can take a look. I will try to remember to do that here in the next few days...
JMonadnock
Thanks, I appreciate any help I can get. I'm presently on the road and have no need for a quick reply, but would like to be able to swap the bad clutch unit out when I get back home.
