I don't think it will stick out as much now as when the car is painted black plus the wheel design I don't think will show too much caliper.. I'd have to check on Monday.

I did buy a wire brush set from harbor freight today

Hmm I think I'm switching up again lol.. since these wheels are not 100% how it looked on the website it's between black and silver caliper paint leaning more towards black because of contrast.

Might look a little funny at first on the brown car

sucks that for the kits the only color the auto store has it red.. no wonder the ricers all use red :-/

  • 2 months later...

hmm going to be buying the other two wheels in about two weeks but I'm having dirty thoughts of changing the wheel color to how I want it.. glossy black spokes with a shiny lip.

my only concern at the moment is doing that how long can I expect the finish to last if doing the prep work the correct way?

if I could get someone to photoshop it I think it will make the wheel look that much better.

Ah, you want a challenge.

Find a paint supply shop, and buy automotive grade paint and clearcoat (if you want a glossy finish). Good paint will hold up fine on wheels. And if they'll be sitting for a while before being put on the paint will have plenty of time to cure.
