freightlinersub
I've got an 86' wagon I lost the idler gear in the timing belt components and it sat for a few months. I replaced both idler gears put it back together and it runs and idles better than ever, but now once its up to temp if you shut it off and let it sit for more than a minute it will just sit there and crank until you let it sit and cool down. It has the FI so i figure that rules out icing up? I tried using its diagnostic light but its not jivin with the haynes book. anyone had this problem or know what it could be? naru
Possibly flooding from a leaky injector. Next time it doesn`t start, try cranking it over w/the throttle floored to clear it out. If that doesn`t work, check for spark.
freightlinersub
It will start no problem if you turn it over in less than a minute after shutting down. I've tried flooring it, it just cranks like there is no spark but there is. If i let it sit for a half hour it will start again but you half to floor it, if you wait an hour or more it starts without throttle and runs fine. 987687
The flooring it after half an hour thing sounds like a leaky injector as suggested. I'd run some injector cleaner through it. Or just replace the injector. They're pretty cheap from a yard.
