spideyz
Hi Guys, I picked up the Brat last friday and am excited to start working on it. The body is the main problem. Looks like someone's ex-girlfriend took a sledge hammer to it. There are dings and dents everywhere you look. Most of the stuff can be taken care of when I ge the thing painted, but the front end was in an accident and it needs a new front bumber, both fenders and a hood. THe car is a 1987. I am assuming that the hood, fenders and bumbers are all the same on any sube of that body styling. Since I know the Pick-n-Pull lots around here have lots of wagons and hatches, but usually no Brats, I am hoping these parts are all the same. Can someone confirm this for me? Also, the tailgate on the Brat is beat up. Does anyone in Northern CA have a tailgate that is in good condition? And how about the chrome trim that goes around the top edge of the bed? Thanks. northguy
Front end parts are all pretty much interchangable with Gen II styles except the fenders from an 82 are different in the placement of the antenna. Tailgates are hard to come by and trim is even rarer. Good luck with it.
s'ko
congrats on the BRAT. I picked up one on Thursday. I am having the same problem as you in regards to the tailgate trim. I may go to a metal fabricator and see if a piece can be made for it. Will keep you appraised. BW
MilesFox
all of the suspension and engine parts will change out with other models of the same styling there are ea81, and ea71 motors of the era, and a n older version of the ea71 in 80-82, the 80-82 had external voltage regulator and different coil, so try 83 and up for a good match of most parts
