Seantheimpaler
was sitting in my gfs drive way last night idling for right around ten minutes waiting for my gf to come out of the house. i noticed her room mate doing the nasty with the window open when suddenly my view was obstructed by a huge cloud of steam billowing from under the hood of my subie (instant karma i guess). i shut the car off waited a few minutes and filled it back up with water and drove home fine. i got up this morning and popped the hood with engine running and neither of my electric fans are running! (1983 1.8l ea-81 ohv) where do i start?

Seantheimpaler
ok, here's my revision, so upon further investigation one of the fans is actually working, its the fan on the passenger side of the vehicle, it is also the fan that turns on when the ac is on. when i was sitting parked in idle i had the acc switch off so there was no power to that fan, duh The other fan doesn't seem to be doing anything tho and this concerns me. does anyone know when the drivers side fan supposed to be working? i.e. is it only when its getting hot enough for it to warrant 2 fans? or is this supposed to kick on during normal operation? idosubaru
i think dual fans are related to A/C. a fan (or both) comes on when the a/c is turned on.
