GeneralDisorder
Yep - head gasket fail. There's a leak that's only opening up when hot. That's a classic head gasket failure-prone engine. OEM gaskets are $34 each GD

GeneralDisorder
Two words - HELL NO. Not on the EJ's. OEM is the stuff. GD
idosubaru
Two words - HELL NO. Not on the EJ's. OEM is the stuff. GD +1 PT's are great for EA/ER engines, but NOT EJ's. just a wag but if you didn't experience classic EJ25 overheating symptoms i wouldn't be surprised if they were replaced years ago with some aftermarket gaskets.
