Datsunrides
The parts coupe I got earlier in the year actually had an EA62 in it. I thought all the GL coupes had EA63's. Anyways, the 62 is a 1300 right? Is there anything special about it, other than the heads, that would be worth saving? Mark
moosens
Mark, please save it. If you don't have room let me know and maybe I'll go nuts and cover shipping. "ctsuba" has one left , I think. He told me that he once read that a scientist of some sort once declared that the 1300 horiz. opp. engine was the best for maximizing fuel efficiency. It's the EA63 before it was punched out to make it 1400 so opinon is that the material the took out made the walls too thin etc. which resulted in the 1400 EA63 becoming notorious for the cylinders slopping around and tearing up headgaskets and head surfaces. Datsunrides
Hey Paul, I'll hold onto it for a bit. Luckily they are small engines and easy to tuck away. If you do decide you want it, I'm sure we can work something out. It can probably ship Fedex or worse case Greyhound. I sent a friend in Vermont a left side front clip from a Colt and it was only like $90 or so via Greyhound. I'd guess the engine would be somewhere around $60-80 Fedex. Kostamojen
which resulted in the 1400 EA63 becoming notorious for the cylinders slopping around and tearing up headgaskets and head surfaces. Which is also why they made the solid-deck block EA63 replacement shortblocks Also, the valves are spaced closer together on the EA62 heads versus the EA63. The rockers are also different because of this.
