Speedwagon
For the Brat. '87 Brat, so it never came with the rear seats. Not it will have a soft seat: It is a CJ7 seat. Fits nicely between the wheel wells, and comes with the belts. Tomorrow I mount it.

Dunno how its going to stand up to weather though? -Tom I'll probably get a cover for it, but since it is for a CJ, it should be fairly durable. It is made of vinyl, so nothing to soak up water. I assume I should have to care for it like a boat seat, and they hold up pretty well to the elements.

bheinen74
its not legal to ride in seats in the back of a 86 or 87 BRAT. The last year you can legally install and ride in them is 85, which is part of the grandfathe'd law here. look it up. before you get a ticket. Turbone
I believe if it has seatbelts you can. I'll see if I can find the RCW for it.
Fenix747
I have jump seats installed in my 86 Brat. And after goin through the laws i havent found anything that says you cant. Just says you need a seat belt. And as far as the way its installed it says "The state patrol shall adopt and enforce standards as to what constitutes adequate and safe seat belts and for the fastening and installation of them." So i guess it comes down to whether the cop thinks its safe or not. At least thats the way i interpret it http://apps.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.61.688 http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=46.37.510 **note** this is washington law and not colorado Cool idea btw -Andy Edited October 8, 2010 by Fenix747

TheLoyale
Only in certain states. Colorado has no laws regarding adults in the cargo area of a vehicle. What about the trunk of an '89 Tempo? But yes, WI is ok with it as long as there is a safety restraint in place. Looking forward to seeing the seat in there. -Tom
