hellosubaru
Ok, I'm going to rattle off a bunch of questions with pics, hopefully some (or all) of these can be answered! What do these four connectors go to? They come out in the middle of the firewall on the Legacy, and go on the manifold area: Does this plug go to the dash? What are the wires that remain, tach, temp, oil light? The colors are Red Green, White Green, and Green White: This goes up to the alt, but the one tiny plug wasn't plugged into anything, what is it for? Are these three yellow wires for switched 12v? Also, is the short, fat white wire supposed to go directly to the positive terminal on the battery? This is for the starter. Should I use this plug that is wired into the EJ harness, or should I splice the wiring coming out of the ECU into the EA harness and remove this plug? Here is a picture of the whole thing laid out for reference. Is there too much left? Did I delete something I shouldn't have? Labeled: Thanks everyone, I appreciate it! -Jason
NoahDL88
you are aware of the the writeup that Nunchux did at the top of this forum? 1: cam crank knock o2 2: certain wires from the other end of those cut may be the ones for sensors (its in the writeup) 3: Ac compressor 4: Yes and probably yes, depends on if the yellow has the red stripe or not 5: I'd use the EA starter, but that's just me 6: Really? you want me to just come over and do it for you Oh, did I mention there is a writeup? Gloyale
You can cut out the large white wire, and the ALT plugs. YOu just need to save the ends of the ALT plugs to slice onto the EA wiring, you won't be charging through the EJ harness, you'll be using the original EA ALt wiring except for the ends. NO wires should be attached directly from the battery, if you want ot pull your constant power from the Battery, it needs to be fused. I personally like to take power from the fuse box. Looks cleaner and will be fused and fusible linked.
hellosubaru
Awesome, thanks for the help guys. I've read through 'chux writeup a couple dozen times, along with his harness info pdf that he sends out with his harnesses he cuts down. I've also read through most of the FSM pages regarding electrical. I just want to make absolutely sure of everything before a tape / loom up, and for a hopefully flawless execution. Thanks again, -Jason
