KootenayJK
I'm hoping someone can answer this quick, so I don't have to spend hours reading threads on the various Soob boards. My donor engine is from a '95/'96 2.2, and has 4-hole injectors. My ECU/Harness is from a '91 2.2, and has 1-hole injectors. Can/should I use the 4-hole injectors? GeneralDisorder
Use the injectors that match your ECU. Always.... unless you do a custom tune (not possible with that ECU) or are running some form of engine management. You will need to use the entire manifold from the '91 since the 95/96 manifold is OBD-II and will not be compatible with the '91 ECU. There might be some cross-over but safe bet is to stick with the '91 electrical components. GD
KootenayJK
Thanks GD. Using the '91 manifold for that reason. Just wondering if the injectors were compatible in case they might offer some advantage.
LeoneTurbo
All side-feed non-turbo injectors for EJ-series Phase I engines (at least 1.8/2.2/2.5L) are 280cc/min and thus work with any non-turbo ECU for Phase I engines. I've been running 1989-1991 EJ22E injectors on a 1997 ECU w/o problems.
