jrt2nd
Hey there all, I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if the factory, 16", aluminum rims from a 99 forester will fit an 05 Impreza. I know the 16" is the same, and I would guess the bolt pattern is the same, I'm just wondering about the backset.
nickb21
Bolt pattern for a normal Impreza (not STI) and Forester is the same (5x100). The offset is probably slightly different maybe 48 (forester) vs 53/55 (impreza). The few mm's difference shouldn't be a problem as long as you're using correctly sized tires for the car. edrach
I agree with the previous comments, but would also point out that brake calipers might be larger on the newer cars and older rims might not clear. I'm really not familiar with the newer models but thought I'd throw caliper clearance into consideration.
1982gl4
I had 2000 forester alloys on my 02 WRX and they worked fine. The offset is a little different, but as stated already with the correct tire size it shouldn't matter. -SB
nickb21
Good call on the caliper size. I would imagine that at the very least the base Impreza still has 2-pot fronts and would clear 16's fine. WRX maybe would clear. STI definitely won't (at least the 08+ models, probably the earliers ones too). Check out nasioc.com, they have a "what fits" rims/wheels/tires thread stickied. jrt2nd
Thanks guys. i would think, that since they are both 16's, brake fittment (is tat a word?) shouldn't be a problem.

idosubaru
05 impreza calipers are no different than earlier models so the calipers won't be an issue. the only thing i can think of is if they moved the caliper out a hair to allow for larger rotors. highly unlikely and i bet 16's would *still* fit even if they did. so you could look up rotor diameter if you're really worried about it - any favorite online parts vendor or ebay should show what year rotors are the same or the actual size to make a comparison. if 2005 matches any earlier year, you're golden. if it's just a regular impreza i wouldn't worry about it. but that's easy to say when it's not my time and money!
