97OBWNEB
How exactly do I begin the process of hooking up the under the dash self diagnostic (outlet?) to check a AT oil temp light? It is flashing 16 times and I believe there is torque bind. I see a couple different things to hook into but am not sure what is what. There is a grey one and a yellow one. This is for a 97 legacy outback with 127,000 mi. automatic 2.5L. I found the gear shift pattern on here yesterday. A picture or diagram would be great. Thanks for any help. OB99W
Welcome to the forum. The diagnostic connector to locate is B82, 6-pin, black. If it and the two ground leads aren't hanging free above the accelerator pedal, then they probably haven't been used before, and are taped to the harness. You may find the following thread, and the PDF file links within, helpful: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19805 You may also find this interesting: http://endwrench.com/pdf/feb2004pdf/4EAT.pdf See especially the "Trouble Codes" section, page 13, bottom left column, (page 8 of PDF).
