bizzy102 Posted November 6, 2010 Share Posted November 6, 2010 Hello all. I have a 97 legacy 2.2 motor! I got a DC sports 2.50 muffler on it.Sounded like a good idea at the time. i was trying to get the boxter rumble out of it. Boy did I get more than i bargained for... rumble is like a roar, so loud , my rear view mirror comes out of place. I tried to quite it up by putting a 2.25 peice of pipe down the muffler. It sound a little better but its still a litttle loud. I know the obvious solution to this is to take it off and go back to stock....But I like it a little but I would like to tame it a little! Anyone know where I can get a baffle or something for this thing.. Even a homemade one or something. Ricearu Posted November 6, 2010 Share Posted November 6, 2010 i shut one up one time by putting an 18" resonator in the center of the exhaust. I used a purple hornet, but a cherry bomb will work too. Fairtax4me Posted November 7, 2010 Share Posted November 7, 2010 Go buy a cherry bomb (glasspack, aka: resonator) and stick it somewhere inline before the muffler, If that doesn't quiet it done enough you might have to get a muffler with smaller pipes.
