Subie Gal
Stanley is awesome!!!!! <---true! He's new to my stable of Subaru's as of September below is a photo of the long tow home from LA, CA as we went through the redwoods. We are having a BLAST together...! and he's already been modified (i cannot help myself) Stanley's first modification = eyelids Stanley loves to give hugs and he prides himself in staying neat and clean Seriously..... Picked the van up over the summer in LA at a car show (pre arranged) Owner (from AZ) had him for 4 years and did little with him Previous owner daily drove him for 23 years (and painted him red....) He is a great runner, driver and a wonderful project I feel privileged to be a part of his history View more photos here: http://www.subiegal.com/thecars/subaru360van/subaru360vanphotos.php I'll update this thread as our relationship progresses. murph
Wow , very nice ! is it considered "ok" to put custom wheels and tires on such a beautiful / stock ride ? how about tinting the windows ? or is that frowned upon . I just love the looks of those older vans , it's flipp'in CUTE ! all the best , Murph

Others mod the crap out of them, engine, body and more. Me? I may or may not re-engineer the original splash guards I may powdercoat the engine bits I may rework the interior (new upholstery, new belts etc) but that's about it In my eyes, he's just too cool to mess with too much
coxy
Simply awesome we started with 1400's in Australia so any 360's are private imports so jealous you are lucky. I agree it is so cool as it is with those moon style hubcaps and the lids are just right and the red paint just makes it look like the ultimate Snap On tool box on wheels, was it originally white, for certain it is a keeper restore it suitable for the era with mods that can be easily reversed if you wish to personalize it. Subie Gal
....was it originally white, for certain it is a keeper restore it suitable for the era with mods that can be easily reversed if you wish to personalize it. yep the original owner had the exterior painted red it looks nice in the photos but this is not a good paint job :-\ I intend to fix that eventually including a full interior paint to match I may keep it red but will add some red flake/make it better - more stylish I'd like to find a roof rack of some sort for him and I intend to replicate his long since destroyed mud flaps. (well at least 2 sets of them) The Van had 3 sets of mud flaps originally *front of the front wheel *rear of the front wheel *rear of the rear wheel The fronts were to keep water out of the exposed under body up front during rain As Stanley wont be out in the rain, these are probably not necessary Don't ya love my AC unit... stylish isn't it?

ShawnW
Its like a little puppy. Anybody that doesn't like it isn't worth liking. I think the saddest part is we never got another Subaru van in the states again.
Loyale 2.7 Turbo
Not Tryin' to Hijack the Thread, but Sharing info: That is pretty kewl looking it reminds me of somthing you'd see in the old herby the love bug movie's that I watched when I was a little kid or on classic car shows I watch on sunday's after church ... ...Or you could see them in my Country Streets there are Several Still Runnin' Great, but not in such Showroom Condition. ...I think the saddest part is we never got another Subaru van in the states again. We got the Newer ones too... ...I Believe that is something Related to the USA Safety Regulations. But Canada has them! even the ones with the VW Conversion Shape: Maybe you can bring one from Canada... or are they unregistrable? Kind Regards.
