tractor pole
After searching I couldn't find this particular topic, sorry if it is a repost. I have a 91 EA82 about 165k and in need of a oil pump gasket so I figured I would do everything I could while in there. What about timing belts? Dayco? Gates? Goodyear? looking at DAYCO belts, tensioners and idler pulley. from Rock Auto for $112. h2o pump, thermostat, cam seals, crank seal... is there anything else I am forgetting? GeneralDisorder
Doesn't matter - they all break between 50k and 60k it seems. It's a poor belt routing and design. Just use whatever's cheap since they all last about the same. I go with the $65 shipped kits on ebay. GD
idosubaru
doesn't much matter. good thing you're already looking at kits with the idlers and tensioners included, that's more important than timing belt brand. the 20 year old bearings in your timing components are not going to be smooth like new ones. the ebay timing belt kits are only $60 and included all new pulleys, that's what i always get. theimportexperts is probably the USMB's favorite supplier off ebay. confusing why they have such good prices but those products aren't available to other companies?
