jsemeraro
i have a 96 lsi and i had a truble code 14 for the trany, bad wire so i fixed the wire. now i have more codes. has this happend to anyone else? dose this mean i have a bad TCM? i realy dont want to chase all of the codes and find out that its just the tcm. the new codes are 12,13 and 23. i have a good manual so i know what they are and how to trouble shoot them but would rather just know first. nipper
Save us a little work please and post what they codes mean. Can be as simple as a connnector not fully plugged in, especially if they were not there before.
jsemeraro
sry, 12 is solinoid B, 13 is shift solinoid 3, and 23 is engine speed signal.
nipper
Almost sounds like a harness/plug issue.
johnceggleston
where and how did you fix the first wire? what caused the first wire problem?
jsemeraro
there was a broken insulation and was grounding so i cut out the bad part and soldered in a new part. this was the number 10 wire from the b55 plug from the TCM, its the common/ground wire for the shift solenoids and inhibitor switch. nipper
If you have no driveability issues, reset the codes and go for a drive. Check them again in a week or so and lets see what happens. If you are having drivability issues start here http://www.northursalia.com/techdocs/pdf/transmission/4eat.pdf
