During the process we lost a release bearing clip and had to make a new one. Well when i shift it pushing and releasing the clutch i get a poping and clutch chatter. and when i shift hard its extreamly loud. It wasent doing it before i put it back in and its not a mount. plz help if i have to ill pull the trans back out and take it apart anand rebuild it up again
Legacy777
Welcome to the USMB. It sounds like you may have two separate issues, the clutch shutter and popping, and the shifting. Does the popping sound still occur if the engine is off and you depress the clutch while the car is stopped? Can you provide some additional information as to "what" is extremely loud when you shift hard.
Eshaw08
Well its not a clutch issue with the popping cause i found out that its not only undershifting power when it does it but also if I press and then release the gas really fast. Usually makes the noise when im making the car jerk. Its not believed to be a motor mount or trans mount and dosent do it while turning. I have replaced all of the half shafts and the u joints on the drive shaft are good. Im not worried about the clutch shutter because I may be using the wrong vocab. It might be the way i drive a stick. But before the trans was pulled it didnt make the noise. And it does in gear and does not do it while the car is not running. also it has a issue with it running very rich. But it is not throwing a code and i no it is because of the exhaust smell sorry if it sound all clustered together and the clutch is new
nipper
Time for the rubber hose and a friend. Put the rubber hose to the bell housing and the other to year ear. Have the friend operate the clutch and see if that is where (I suspect) the noise is coming from.

nipper
heres the problem it only does it while its driving the clutch doesent have to be in use if u jerk the car with the gas it will do it Is it a pop, a thud, or a knock. When you rev the engine is it there? Does it diminsh with each upshift? Does it exist when floored in top gear? I am thinking a tranny mount
Eshaw08
Its a pop it does it about five times it does it when in gear with whenfloored it does it during hard shifting and it does not go away with shift up. Like when I down shift. And let off the clutch. In goes pop pop pop pop. And it does when accel?erating hard ill check the tranny mount when I get home

Maybe get the car up in the air (do NOT get under it), all four wheels and see if you can hear it better that way
Eshaw08
It is fixed. I was off this weekend so i got up under it and i found 2 bolts on the crossmember that i left loose and tightened them up and no more noise.
