desertsubaru
I have a 96 OBW with a 94 Legacy 2.2 engine and a 95 legacy wire harness. Which knock sensor should I use?
idosubaru
a 1995 EJ22 knock sensor is a 100% fool proof way to make sure it'll work and have the same connector. but i think all the connectors are the same anyway...and probably the knock sensors too for 95 and 96 Ej22 and 25's. capn_r
Napa lists the same part numbers for those years so if you have a good one in the mix I'd run it. If you don't have a known good one maybe some more experienced posters will chime in with a recommendation.
idosubaru
i got one off ebay i think for like $30 or $40....but i think it was the newer style for the SOHC's.
desertsubaru
I was looking on Ebay and the EJ 2.2 is cheaper then the 2.5. The one I was looking at has the same plug as mine for $21 plus shipping so I will go with that one. Thanks guys:banana:
Rooster2
A word of caution.............Upon knock sensor installation, remember to just snug up the bolt. Otherwise, if you really crank down on the bolt to tighten it, you will likely crack and break the plastic sensor and ruin it.
