Digi Dash Swap Out

Recommended Posts

Can the digital dash in a GL-10 be swapped out for an analog dash? My digidash works just fine, but I get sick of the speedometer when it goes 55,54,55,54,55,54,55,56,55,56,55,54 and so on. Plus, it was an automatic swapped to a 5 speed dual range, so I have the gear indicators on the dash that are now useless. Can the digital dash gauge cluster be removed and replaced with a standard gauge cluster without any modifications? My car is a 1987 GL-10 if that matters.

I would assume so yes... The connectors would probably be the same. I doubt they would use different wiring, that would complicate the process of building the cars. Normally the fewer different parts is better for cost correct?

If you can get a pic of the back of your digidash I could check it against the connectors on my analog dash. Or someone else can chime in with the correct answer

in 1988+ XT's it's not that hard to swap out the digidash, wonder what the difference is? yours might not be too terrible....might be EA81's are earlier models that were hard?

in an XT (which is an EA82 like yours - same engine platform) all you need to do is swap the fuel tank sending unit (or not worry about your fuel gauge).
