mdjdc
I have a friend that has a 98 forester and he has no blinkers. Where should I start looking and where is the blinker relay/control module. I also need to know where the flasher module is as I have been told that that could also be the problem. Right now he has nothing. Thanks Mike
Cougar
If there is no signs of power to the turn indicators then I suggest you check for a bad fuse first off. If the emergency flashers don't work also then I would be pretty sure there is a power problem causing the trouble.
mdjdc
I will check those fuses, but I need the location of the control modules too.
idosubaru
i just went through an entire 2000 FSM body electrical system pages and didn't find the module location. the combination switch on the column could be bad too - like it's not activating/dirty contacts/etc.
idosubaru
look like it's called a "turn signal and hazzard module", so if the hazards don't work then you're probably almost positive it's the controller. i found the connector B32 for the 2000 model year legacy stuff - i would think the forester is the same? 3 pole black connector. it looks like it's up and to the right of the gas pedal - kind of where the TCU and ABS terminal is located but up a little higher and the the right. im trying to copy paste a picture from the FSM. Cougar
I just though of another thing. I think the power for the turn signals is switched by the emergency flasher switch so try cycling that switch a few times to see if that helps restore things.
