DC493
I recently came across a '05 WRX STI engine with 27k miles on it for $300.00 so I bought it in an instant and I want to install it into my '93 EA82 Loyale 5spd 2wd, But before I do this I want to do my homework and make sure it will work. So can this be done with little modifications? Do I have to change out the transmission and suspension as well and the engine?? Any other advice will be appreciated very much Thanks in advance -

DC493
I actually got everything even wiring! The WRX it came out of was wrecked in the back and he was parting it out.
nipper
Check out this engine completely. Remove timing covers, make sure all the pistons are there (no joke). That is juts too good a price. DO a leakdown test if you can.

renob123
I bet it's stolen. EJ257s don't have the VIN on the block or anything, do they? Jacob
ShawnW
They do unless they were warrantied at the dealer which is pretty common.

Caboobaroo
Make sure the belt hasn't jumped and caused anything to bend. Also check the pistons too as the ringlands are known to let go and cause major blowby, especially when run hard.
