I'm going to guess it's the same setup as my 95 Legacy with twist lock bulbs? A friend is asking me to change his bulbs because one side went out and the shifter bulb is out too all this happened over the time of a few years.. the way he was wording it like it happened all the same day..

I've taken my gauge cluster out before so I'm guessing its the same on the '02?

heh I put LED's in mine bright enough to know I have my lights out during a sunny day.. However the superbrightleds.com website I think I got a crappy batch of the bulbs they flicker now if my dash brightness is up too high.

I just don't have the time to pull them and put them on a variable voltage power supply to test them.

My better LED christmas lights sometimes flicker too. I wonder if they are seeing the cycles in the electrical generation.

nope these are really flickering sometimes while driving some sections will go off I think it the crappy cheap components that make up the LED.

You may be seeing the results of excessive ripple voltage coming from the alternator. If you have a meter check the AC voltage at the battery while the flicker is occuring. You should see less than .1 volt if things are normal.

hmm interesting... I know when the car is not running the lights are fine.. in the morning the lights will be fine until maybe 3-5 min later.

I will check my alternator again but I don't know how many times I have to keep checking it.

my volt is crappy cheap LED's since I have about 2 good bulbs that won't flash when the car is running.
