Doin the SPFI change per the instruction by GD, also just doin a general overall cleaning and replacing gaskets etc. While looking at everything I decided to check the compression. and i got the 30 then 60 then 90 climbing compression on all 4 cylinders. In my book it says that equates to ring issues, I am hoping that someone here will tell me that having no oil and the fact that it has been siitting out cold and dry will some how affect this. It ran okay when I shut it down, but if I have to pursue further work I guess best to do it now. Just wondering if a more experienced member may have some other advice. I tell ya i have been looking over and over trying to see if I was doin somethin wrong, but i could come up with nuthin. It never occured to me that turning by hand with a wrench would be an issue. thanks again and I will keep you apprised of my progress, slow as it may be. hatchsub Posted January 13, 2011 Share Posted January 13, 2011 Take all 4 plugs out of the motor as well. I made the mistake of doing one at a time and you wont get the same reading.
