idosubaru Posted January 20, 2011 Share Posted January 20, 2011 (edited) yes. or more correctly: yes and no...or sort of no. all EJ's and EG33 are the same prior to 1998. the bellhousing bolt patterned changed in 98 (or 99, pretty sure it's 98 though), but even still you can bolt an old engine up to the new style bellhousing just fine, just different number of bolts (4 and 8). for swapping engines and trans it doesn't matter that it changed. I have an EJ25 block in my Brat. It has your redrilled flywheel and adapter plate hooked up to a 5-speed D/R. That should answer your questions.
