GeneralDisorder Posted February 11, 2011 Share Posted February 11, 2011 The 1.8 doesn't have a knock sensor. But otherwise it should work without much issue. You can bolt the 1.8 manifold to the 2.2. idosubaru Posted February 11, 2011 Share Posted February 11, 2011 There's no wiring issues at all, that's the easy part - just bolt the entire EJ18 manifold onto the EJ22 like GD said. if the EJ22 has a knock sensor just remove it and send it to me or you can just leave it there. some EJ22's only have single port exhaust EJ18's have dual port. you can either look for EJ22's with dual ports (pre-1996) or you can just swap the exhaust manifold too - it bolts right up and swaps directly in place and you essentially have to remove it/unbolt it from the engine anyway to replace the motor so it's hardly any extra work. you'll want an EJ22 with EGR as EJ18's have EGR Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
