MaddCelt
A friend of mine out in Ohio was in need of a new car for their paper route. I jumped on Craigslist and searched for Subaru. The first car on the list said "1998 Subaru Legacy Wagon automatic power windows remote start new tires new brakes and rotors all around 193k on the body motor has under 80k this is a 2.4 liter boxer motor runs and drives great very dependable car lots of room all wheel drive" So off they went to look into it and by noon they will be proud owners of their first Subie. Scoobywagon
2.4L boxer, huh? Oh well. I hope it works out for them. Good job on bringing another addict into the world.
Goobysoobs
that's not the worst I've seen I saw a dealer say 93 subaru legacy with VTEC 4 cyl. I was like wtf?! I don't trust this car already!
AWDfreak
Worst mistake on a Subaru ad I saw was that a 2005 WRX was listed as FWD no modifications to car Also seen some people call the Subaru engine a "V4" Congratulations, hope they take very good care of it!!! revox
sounds a lot like the ad I answered (except mine is the much-more popular 2.5). They never did mention that the head gasket was blown, so I spent another $2300 on top of the purchase price on repairs and preventative maintenance. even though I was completely ripped off, I took full responsibility for my lack of judgment and now I'm in love with my car. MaddCelt
That is one thing I do not like about Craigslist. People will post vehicles that are either junk, have something wrong with it, yet they will ensure you it runs great. It did not occur to me what he said about the engine, then again I just hit my 1 year mark as a Subi owner and addict, so I am still learning. MilesFox
Be knowledgeable to look for bubbles in the radiator anytime you are looking to buy a soob. Not always the end of the world, but you could call out a liar, or at least drive the offer down over it, and make the investment in repairs/PM
