Fairtax4me
or maybe ''over heating'' does mean the same as EJ25. "Overheating" has become synonymous with "EJ25" because of all the threads about them. Sorry for not including SUS. I'm still learning. Got it home last night. The SUS is a good find. Should be good for life with a 2.2 under the hood.
dart67eb
OK. Long story short. Yanked the motor. It was easy. I took the intake off to get at the torque converter bolts. I had a heck of a time getting the rh intake cam pulley bolt off. I had to use a pipe wrench on the cam. A 1" wrench spun along with heating, freezing, etc. One of the cam cap bolts stripped so I beat on it with a 3/8 and got it off. Anyway, the headgaskets had failed. New ones went on and in went the motor. Test drive and the temp gauge was dancing. After we put on the a/c it got hot. Pulled over and opened the hood. My son didn"t tighten a heater hose clamp properly. Tightened it, topped it off and burped it. Runs good now!
