TheLoyale
lol.... That would be most of what NASIOC is, look at any, and I mean ANY thread. Its all the same Scott, when you did your 5spd swap, did you swap Driveshafts? I thought the Auto driveshaft was different then the Manual (Maybe I'm thinking only of the Crossmember) If anyone has an extra EA82 AT driveshaft, I'll take it. I've noticed this weird moaning around 25mph in the EA82, I've check wheel bearings, Axles, Axle stub bearings and the Carrier bearing. Nothing seems to have play in them. Its most noticeable right around 25mph, it is not the Transmission, its the same whether its in 2nd or 3rd gear, Neutral and coasting the noise is still there. I've got to think it is the Bighorns, perhaps how they are wearing. I swapped the fronts to the back last year as the sides were getting a little rounded in the front dude to Camber. So I dunno. I wish I had another set of tires/wheels to toss on the car, drive it around the block and see if the noise is gone. (Scott, give me your Grabbers for 20min) I don't want to drive the EA82 to MI if I having a failing bearings somewhere. How often do the diff bearings fail? All my gear oil is fresh and clean as are all fluids. Edited April 19, 2012 by TheLoyale

MilesFox
I hear tell that there will be a sheboygan dealer meet at the new subaru/toyota dealership there. This will be around august. How many drivers can we bring for me to have 4 gars go, and both the loyale and the ski wagon. tom, which car are you bringing to dealer meets? AdventureSubaru
I'd jump in on such things if I'm not working. The Adventure car has not had enough exercise lately.
TheLoyale
I'm probably going to bring both to the dealer meets (At least Don Miller) I'll drive the EA82 and my folks are gonna drive the Ski wagon. What are planning on bringing to Don Miller on June 10th? 3-Door and TW10?
MilesFox
I sho will bring the 3door. Liz can drive a trashwagon as she is currently driving it for jimmy johns. I would make Schmaus go and drive the 3door for me while i drive the xt. If you had a way to bring both the loyale and the ski wagon, that would be 5 cars if scott brings his. We should try to do a local meet again. If desmond is not at the shop we might have to do the garage agian or someplace public like fuel cafe and maybe a cruise. There is some interesting driving under the hoan bridge if you dont mind dusty roads and railroad tracks.
TheLoyale
You still got the XT! Thats cool. This would be the largest old gen round up for a Meet/show. I am hoping to get the Ski wagon all done before Don Miller, I still need a new rad, Clutch kit, Axle, weld the rockers in, reinstall the interior, swap on my rear discs, new pads, belts, fluids. I want to get the Fuel lines all hooked up tomorrow. I want to here this EA81 roar again! And it sure will with a wide open cat. Mid pipe broke off and the header probably leaks. I need to make my own exhaust, Header and all. Where can I buy new Header flanges for the EA81? I would be down for the Hoan bridge thing soon. MilesFox
Where can I buy new Header flanges for the EA81? Use muffler flanges. I made gaskets to a muffler on an 84 lincoln town car work for header gaskets on an ea82. you should be able to find something. make true dual exhaust . I made gaskets to a muffler on an 84 lincoln town car work for header gaskets on an ea82. you should be able to find something. make true dual exhaust . I don't know about the true dual exhaust, might kill the sound and possibly any power the EA81 could push out? I was actually thinking of some how making an UEL header like whats on the Legacy, so I can get a nice deep growl outta this thing. I would use the stock 1-7/8" tubing until I hit the Mid pipe, then I would bump it up to 2.25" with a 16" Resonator and then straight pipe the rest out the rear and perhaps bump the size up to 2.5" for the tail pump. I'm trying to get the EA to sound kinda like an EJ, I think an UEL header woud really do it, along with low end torque. I will have to measure the flange and see what the parts store can get me with those dimensions. My only issue is bending the tube, I really want to do a first rate job on this and not just a slice, bent, weld job.
MilesFox
If you only knew the sound of a subaru engine in stereo. go with narrow pipes with a true dual, say 1.5 after the header. Do an x pattern or a balance pipe

It probably does sound cool, I have no idea though!
AdventureSubaru
A while back I was looking at dual pipe exhausts for subies. There's a company out there called Perrin that makes them. Some of the Impreza guys have youtube videos capturing the sound. Pretty cool sounding. Far from the fart cans I'm used to hearing go by the house. TheLoyale
Perrin is a pretty large well known Aftermarket supplier for the Impreza crowd. I will check out some videos of the Dual pipes.
TheLoyale
So, I didn't find much on youtube of the Duel exhaust, Most of it shows the Duel pipe muffler on WRXs? Whatever the point of that it. Although, I found this car. Sounds nice.
TheLoyale
What is the opinion of this 12ton Hydro tube bender? It comes with 8 dies and can bend from 1/2" to 3" tubing. This is a pretty decent price I think. I think the 12ton would do for making a header, eh? http://www.ebay.com/itm/12-Ton-Hydraulic-Pipe-And-Tube-Bender-Exhaust-Pipes-/320791172370?pt=BI_Pipe_Benders&hash=item4ab0a4d512#ht_2406wt_1173
Red92
This is a pretty decent price I think. If you have a Harbor Freight near you, this looks like the exact same bender, for $60 less. http://www.harborfreight.com/12-ton-hydraulic-pipe-bender-32888.html

TheLoyale
Does it stand on the floor? Or do I need to bolt it to something?
MilesFox
it probably bolys to a bench for waist height, or can be used free standing. I had wanted one of these. It is similar to my 12 ton dhop press. if you look at HF tools like this, you can see how there are meny devices designed around the same bottle jack, pins, and angle iron. It would be easy to replicate the design of this tool. I just welded up exhast on the bardin van. If we had a pipe bender, we could have done it for less than cobbling up pre-made off the shelf pieces.
TheLoyale
I noticed that it looks just like the shop press, why change a working design was probably their thought on Manufacture savings ect.
