nickolai
I have a CV axle from a 79 wagon that needs both boots replaced. I've replaced an inner boot on a Dodge Neon before and it went pretty smooth, so I'm not really worried about that one, but I've heard the outer joint is a little more complicated. So what are the tools/techniques required to get the outer joint apart and back together? Thanks.
GeneralDisorder
You don't dissasemble the outer joint - you slip the boot down over the shaft when the inner joint is off. GD
nickolai
What a brilliant idea. I should have thought of that! Thanks GD!
ivantruckman
all you need is snap ring pliers for the inner joint , thats assuming you have the shaft off already, rock auto has the cv boot kit on sale now, beck arnley kits start at $2.58 dollars + shipping. kit includes rubber boot ,small and large otiker style clamps, snap retainer ring, and the grease.. awesome deal
